flydubai Expands Italian Service Offering with Twice-Daily Flights to Milan Bergamo Starting July 2026

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight capacity to Italy to meet rising international travel demand. Official announcements from Emirates News Agency confirm that flydubai is strengthening its presence in Italy by adding more flight frequencies to key commercial hubs. Beginning July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights connecting Dubai with Milan-Bergamo, while also maintaining its commercial presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expanded schedule broadens flydubai’s overall operational reach within Italy. It currently includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily, along with twice-weekly seasonal summer services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, which run through the end of August. The airline also announced operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport. Regular flights to Naples are set to restart on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during the transition.

Codeshare Alliance Facilitates Seamless Passenger Transfers at Dubai Hub

The new routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples continue operating under the established codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This partnership offers passengers integrated travel options, single-ticket purchases, coordinated flight timings, and through-checked baggage handling across both networks. Leveraging Dubai’s central hub, travelers connecting from Italian airports gain easier access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity boost aligns with wider trends in commercial aviation across the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger flows have steadily increased after the pandemic. The higher flight frequencies support growing bilateral trade, investments, and leisure tourism between the UAE and Italy. Double daily flights to Milan-Bergamo offer more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s major financial and industrial center, while daily flights to Southern Italy cater to rising seasonal tourism along the scenic Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, flydubai’s Chief Executive Officer, commented that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that the airline’s main goal remains providing reliable regional access while committing to long-term connectivity improvements in underserved markets. He further noted that market data indicates the airline is increasing operations in Italy through strategic frequency enhancements to accommodate rising passenger numbers between the UAE and Italy, especially with the upcoming winter travel season.

Major Regional Airports Enable Direct Access for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, highlighted that expanding direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the importance of the Italian market. Efendi stated that nonstop connections allow international travelers to utilize the combined network of flydubai and Emirates to reach popular global destinations seamlessly through Dubai. The airline’s management confirmed that fleet deployment and operational teams are prepared to support the increased daily flight schedule, ensuring reliable service for both passengers and cargo.

These operational enhancements reflect flydubai’s ongoing efforts to grow its fleet and expand its international network. As the airline continues acquiring modern narrow-body aircraft, planning teams aim to increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. The expanded flight schedules reinforce Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, enabling smooth passenger and freight movements between European origins and destinations across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
